SERAC EXTREME JACKET BEAMS SPECIAL
By BEAMS x MAMMUT
BEAMS is reissuing the MAMMUT Serac Extreme Jacket in a limited edition, with extra BEAMS details. The jacket, called SERAC EXTREME JACKET BEAMS SPECIAL, goes on sale on 23 October, together with a sweatshirt and a cap.
The original dates from December 1995, when the young climber Stephan Siegrist wore it in the mountains of Patagonia. It is regarded as the start of MAMMUT's Eiger Extreme line, which has now run for thirty years. The reissue is part of BEAMS's 50th anniversary, and the Japanese retailer has stayed close to the source.
The jacket follows the original design and adds modern function plus BEAMS-specific details. It uses a two-layer GORE-TEX, with a 70-denier nylon outer, in an orange and blue colourway. The classic MAMMUT logo sits on the left sleeve and an embroidered BEAMS logo on the right. Inside, a special EIGER STORY LABEL carries both logos, alongside a reissue brand label, and the collar reads SERAC PROJECT EXTREME.
Beyond the jacket, the release is a small capsule that keeps the mountain heritage of the original visible in everyday pieces.
The sweatshirt is the SERAC EXTREME ML CREW NECK, in grey and black, with a large mammoth logo and the BEAMS name on the back of the black version. The SERAC EXTREME CAP comes in blue and black.
The jacket costs 121,000 yen tax included and comes in sizes S to XXL. The crew neck is 18,700 yen and the cap 7,700 yen. Sales start on 23 October at BEAMS Harajuku, Nagoya, Life Yokohama, Hakata, Street Umeda, Sapporo and BEAMS Japan, as well as on the BEAMS online shop.
