LEATHER TOTE

BEAUTIFUL SHOES, the label run by Toshinosuke Takegahara, adds a first leather bag to its range in late October. The LEATHER TOTE is a plain, structured tote in North American steerhide, and it marks a step beyond the footwear the brand takes its name from.
The release is deliberately restrained. The leather is thick, with a fine, tight grain and enough body to hold its shape. The silhouette is minimal with soft lines, and the brand and the press describe it as suited to any style and any generation. There is no logo on the face of the bag in the press images; the only mark is a small label inside, next to the pocket.
Details are aimed at daily use. The handles are cut to be easy to carry, as FASHIONSNAP notes, and the pocket is shaped with everyday items in mind. Because the hide is heavy, the bag is expected to last, and the surface will change with use, a point the brand puts forward as part of the appeal.
It comes in two sizes. The compact SS is meant for lighter loads, the S for a day bag. There are two finishes, BLACK and BLACK EMBOSSED.
The SS is priced at 42,900 yen and the S at 53,900 yen. The bag is released in late October through BEAUTIFUL SHOES stockists. The brand has not named a single release date.
