WAVE MG4 LS SW
By SWJP x MIZUNO
Mizuno's Wave MG4 LS gets a vintage-minded rework from SWJP, the label of Sean Wotherspoon. The collaborative WAVE MG4 LS SW goes on sale on Friday 30 October in two colourways, one of them reserved for Japan.
MIZUNO is the Osaka-born Japanese sportswear maker, and the Wave MG4 LS is one of its retro running silhouettes, described by the brand for its comfort and stability. Wotherspoon, who made his name with the vintage and sneaker store Round Two, is now based in Tokyo and Los Angeles. According to Footwear News, SWJP works with co-designer and co-creative director Ryunosuke Uchida on both product and lookbook.
The upper combines denim, mesh and synthetic materials, with details taken from vintage references. The collaboration adds original graphics and special-spec parts. Press coverage also notes striped fabric over the toe and structure of the shoe, and plaid insoles carrying Sean Wotherspoon branding.
The global colourway uses light blue with red accents. The Japan-exclusive pair is built in calmer tones, with a grey denim base according to Sole Retriever. The source article does not name the colours of the Japan pair, so that detail rests on that report.
Both pairs retail in Japan for 26,400 yen, tax included. They are sold at selected Mizuno directly operated stores, on the Mizuno online store, and through authorised SWJP retailers. Inquiries go to the Mizuno User Service Information Center on 0120-320-799.
