ETHOSENS is a Tokyo-based fashion label designed by Yui Hashimoto. The brand began with the 2008 autumn/winter season and has operated a flagship shop in Shibuya since 2011. Its practice is rooted in clothing rather than lifestyle expansion, with collections shown regularly in Tokyo and a trajectory marked by the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2015. What becomes visible on the brand’s own retail pages is a method centered on fabric specification, cut, and construction. Product descriptions identify cloth origins by production area—among them Ichinomiya in Aichi, Hamamatsu in Shizuoka, and embroidery produced in Hokuriku with finishing in Shiga—along with fiber content, finishing treatments, and domestic manufacture. Materials include Super 180’s and Super 140’s wool plains, silk-linen blends, and sashiko cloth, used in jackets, coats, and tailored separates that emphasize layering, altered proportions, and detachable or reconfigured elements. Within contemporary Japanese fashion, ETHOSENS occupies a position close to experimental tailoring rather than streetwear or revivalist craft. Its distinction lies in how abstract seasonal themes are translated into precise pattern decisions and textile selection, often producing garments that appear restrained at first glance but are structurally unsettled in use. The result is a label defined less by overt statement than by the disciplined manipulation of familiar wardrobe forms.

How to buy

  1. 01

We buy and ship it for you

Ethosens doesn't ship abroad. Honmono can order in Japan on your behalf and forward it to you — one contact, one invoice, no Japanese address needed.

  2. 02

    Use a dedicated proxy service

A proxy such as Buyee or ZenMarket gives you a Japanese address, buys the item and forwards it. Cheaper than a concierge, but expect forwarding fees, a longer wait and customs on arrival.

  3. 03

    Buy it while in Japan

Buy direct from the official shop or a Japanese retailer while you're there — tax-free at most stores on presentation of your passport.
