Launched in 2009 by Shunsuke Ishikawa and based in Nakameguro, MARKAWARE works under a stated Farm to Closet philosophy: the designer sources traceable organic cotton, wool, alpaca and hemp at the farm, then has them spun, woven and sewn in Japan. Since 2018 the brand states that every collection uses organic or sustainably grown cotton.

How to buy

  1. 01

We buy and ship it for you

We haven't verified MARKAWARE's international checkout yet. Honmono can order in Japan on your behalf and forward it to you — one contact, one invoice, no Japanese address needed.

  2. 02

    Use a dedicated proxy service

A proxy such as Buyee or ZenMarket gives you a Japanese address, buys the item and forwards it. Cheaper than a concierge, but expect forwarding fees, a longer wait and customs on arrival.

  3. 03

    Buy it while in Japan

Buy direct from the official shop or a Japanese retailer while you're there — tax-free at most stores on presentation of your passport.
